Biography
Dr. Bittar grew interested in horses when he was still a young child. His endurance rider father soon got him to join the City Amateur Showjumping and Eventing Team – a sport he practiced in his early college days.
In 1998, he earned a degree in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Marilia.
He spent 1999 as a medical residency intern at the São Paulo Jockey Club Veterinary Hospital.
From 2000 to 2002, Dr. Bittar had his second residency internship at the Rio de Janeiro Jockey Club Veterinary Hospital.

He earned a Specialization in Veterinary Anesthesia from the São Paulo State in Botucatu (UNESP).
In 2003, he started his mobile private clinic practice (Bittarvet) to work exclusively with equines in radiology, endoscopy, sports medicine, anesthesia, and dentistry. He was the official vet for the Brazilian Endurance Team in the South American, the Pan-American, and the World Championship Competitions from 2011 to 2012. Dr. Bittar has overseen Eventing, Showjumping, and Endurance events for 15 years.
He was a member of the 2016 Rio Olympic Games Committee and served as:

a consultant for the Olympic and Paralympic equestrian sports.

a veterinary field of play coordinator.

a horse ambulance team leader for the Paralympic Games.
Dr. Bittar has taught equine dentistry at conferences and wet labs in Brazil since 2007 and has organized several International Equine Dentistry Conferences with veterinarian colleagues from the USA and Germany since 2009.
Since 2016, Dr. Bittar has worked exclusively in equine dentistry - traveling throughout to perform oral extractions and advanced conservative procedures for referring veterinary practices.
He was presently Deputy Chairman of the Brazilian Association of Equine Dentistry (ABOE) from 2015 to 2022.
He was invited as a guest professor at the Academy of Equine Dentistry (Glenns Ferry/Idaho-USA) – in 2018, 2020 and 2022.
He was a speaker at the Annual Conference of the International Association of Equine Dentistry (IAED) – Forth Worth/Texas-USA – 2019 and 2022
He was certified by the AED (Academy of Equine Dentistry) and IAED (International Association of Equine Dentistry) – in 2022
In July 2022, Dr. Bittar founded his equine dentistry clinic and educational center (Clínica Bittarvet/Haras Juliana-Rio Claro/SP-Brazil), where he and his team perform all levels of equine dentistry courses, intraoral/surgical extractions, advanced conservative procedures, and sinus surgical procedures.

He is married to Dr Juliana Bittar. She is a vet and works with Equine Reproduction, and they are proud parents of Jorge and Miguel.
